Let the packing begin!

We leave for a one month trip to Europe in 11 days! We've been in planning mode for along time, and reality is sinking in that we need to start getting stuff pulled together.

After doing our part to support the Portland, Oregon, travel products economy, it is time to start packing. Our economic stimulus check has gone to buy luggage, clothing, international driver's licenses, maps and Rick Steve's guidebooks.

We waded into our closet, began unloading sentimental favorites clothes, only to find lots didn't fit (too small for Rollie, too big for Annie), or were out of style (PLEATS PLEATS PLEATS!). A nice bag of clothes will go to Goodwill tomorrow for certain.

Julia and Jenny have launched their packing adventure too. Julia is going practical; skorts, underwear, Twirly Girl dress, and T-shirts. Jenny keeps trying to dress for a State Dinner at Versailles. Fancy fancy and fancy. We've agreed today is a preliminary pack, to be followed up later with refinement. And more shopping, undoubtedly.
